Went to Otakon 2009 (obviously) and had fun.  Was a little disappointed that there weren't as many panels that caught my interest as last year, but oh well.  I cosplayed as Modoki (aka Black Mokona aka Larg) and had fun with the big ears although they blocked my peripheral vision occasionally.  I had to carry around my hand-sized Modoki plush... it was the only way some people actually recognized what I was dressed as. I glomped a few Sakura-himes (scared the first one, I think.  Oops!  But she was so pretty!)  Found one other person cosplaying as Modoki!  Didn't have my camera on me though so I didn't get a picture of the two of us :( I fo

So big news would be my current stress-issue.  I very recently got into a car accident, my first as a driver.  Only damage done was to my car, no one injured.  Was very shaken at the time, still not comfortable thinking about it, but it wasn't a "bad" accident... things could have been much worse than a broken grill and bent hood.  But I'll be without my car for a couple weeks and the damages will pretty much eat up every. Single. Penny. I have in my account.  And then some, I'm sure. Well, it's been about a week now since I put the picture up, so I should probably post a journal entry about it. I had finally gotten around to taking a usable picture of the Modoki (aka black Mokona) hat I made after buying the Mokona hat at Otakon last year (2006).  My first attempt was a Mokona hat, actually, and it didn't turn out too good.  The ears were great, the head cuff fine, but the head piece... ick.  Didn't sit comfortably or look good.  I finally got inspiration from my Saizo hat and that made everything better! The second attempt, which turned out far better, was a "punk Modoki" for one of my best friends.  Chain-linked cuff
